How to grant Greenpixie access to your GCS bucket.

Connect a Google Cloud Storage bucket you own so Greenpixie can read your `input` data and write the enriched file to `output`.

Greenpixie connects through a Service Account that resides in the Greenpixie environment, and you grant that service account access on your bucket. These steps set up a single bucket. If you want separate buckets for input and output, follow them twice.

## Create a bucket [#create-a-bucket]

Create or select an existing Google Cloud Storage bucket to use for input and output data. See the Google Cloud guide to [creating a bucket](https://cloud.google.com/storage/docs/creating-buckets).

## Bucket name [#bucket-name]

Your bucket name should include your company or team name where possible.

For example, if your company name is ABC, `abc-billing-data`.

## Bucket settings [#bucket-settings]

Set the following on the bucket:

* Storage class set to Standard
* [Enforce public access prevention](https://cloud.google.com/storage/docs/public-access-prevention) on this bucket
* Uniform [access control](https://cloud.google.com/storage/docs/uniform-bucket-level-access)
* A [soft-delete policy](https://cloud.google.com/storage/docs/soft-delete) with "Use default retention duration"

## Grant Greenpixie access [#grant-greenpixie-access]

Your Greenpixie contact will provide a Service Account email address in the format shown below.

{customer-name}@client-data-access.iam.gserviceaccount.com
```

On your GCS bucket, [grant this service account](https://cloud.google.com/storage/docs/access-control/using-iam-permissions) the role it needs, depending on whether the bucket holds input or output data:

* For input data, grant Cloud Storage > Storage Object Viewer.
* For output data, grant Cloud Storage > Storage Object User.

Send your GCS bucket name to your Greenpixie contact.

Once connected, Greenpixie enriches your data daily between 01:00 and 04:00 UTC, processing the month-to-date. Your Greenpixie contact will confirm the connection and the enrichment cadence.
